Was under the impression this was GP surgery, or am I missing something??? Was told by an unhelpful and grumpy receptionist Tuesday lunchtime, that my husband would have to be seen by a GP first to have his blocked ear assessed, not a problem with that, but in the next breath told me if they need syringing, he would be referred to somewhere in Wymondham as it's not a procedure they carry out at the surgery!!!! Was impossible to arrange an appointment for him. Also, at the weekend the NHS Walk In Clinic advised the same. They don't do it there either and they would send him 'down the road, but he would have to pay if syringing was necessary'. Why???? He's paid his NI all his working life and to get an appt in the first instance is like searching for rocking horse poo!!!!!!So, 1 week later, he's still got a blocked ear. We had better advice and help from the assistant in Boots pharmacy at Longwater. No wonder you get bad reviews!!!!!
So much potential - fantastic new building, easy, plentiful parking, access from two main bus routes and enough space for a dozen doctors and several nurses. However, booking an appointment is pot luck, two thirds of the rooms are empty and only a handful of staff to cater to the huge (and still growing) population in the area. Even the online system is useless. It's only saving grace is that the few doctors and nurses that are there are very good - if you're lucky enough to get in to see them.
The worst doctors practice in Norwich. Have refused to see my daughter several times, leading her to get tonsilitis. Staff will find any excuse to not see you or book you in. So do yourselves a favour and travel the extra miles to get to a real Surgery where its employees actually care about you.
Terrible Surgery!.. Around 14,000 people on their books and still rising. Clearly can't cope with the work load. Won't answer the phone which then goes into a message suggesting you try a walk-in centre. An appointment take three weeks minimum. When it was the old bungalow on Longwater Lane you could see someone in couple of days. Is only going to get worse!"One appointment=10minutes=One problem" . That's the message on the reception desk. Even if you are within your ten minute slot the GP still won't let you mention a second concern. Therefore you have to book another appointment, which will be another three weeks on.
Just thought I needed to post a review as there were so many negative ones. I have been very fortunate over the years to not need the Doctors services, but have recently needed them a lot. I've found the practice to be very helpful and efficient in getting me appointments and sorting my requirements, I'd like to thank Andrea on reception especially, as despite being very busy and dealing with a multitude of things, she's nearly always been able to deal with my requests, as have the Doctors/nurses. Unfortunately as other people have said, the area is expanding rapidly and this constantly increases the pressure on their stretched services, but thanks for your help and always trying , I know it can't be easy.
