It's a church, and while it's a fantastic representation of it's architecture and the history is interesting, it's very plain. If you're a fan of buildings and architecture this place is amazing, but if you're just sightseeing, you can skip it.
I attended the cathedral a couple of times in December, once for the SFoA school carol service and the other for the carol concert. The cathedral is just beautiful, truly breathtaking and worth a visit (free entry!) my only complaint was one particular member of staff. I don't know her job role, but she was a larger lady and walked about with a face like thunder. She was present at both events and was very distracting when we were trying to partake and enjoy in the events we had come to see.
Apart from the main cathedral this is the most beautiful outstanding buildings in the city. Even if you are not religious I recommend a visit. There is a nice cafe and is tastefully designed to compliment the main building.
We went to the Christmas concert on Wednesday. What a joyful evening, the choir sang beautifully, the brass band were a great addition and the organist was superb. So proud of you all.
Great looking Cathedral inside and out with Gothic styling.I did the tower tour and although it was heritage week and was free I still paid the 5 as a donation . Worth every penny for the great views overlooking our beautiful city of Norwich . The tour guide was excellent and very informative . There are 280 steps to climb to get to the top but you stop at 3 sections along the way so it is quite easy to do . There is parking for about a dozen cars inside the grounds but if full there is a pay and display car park next door . This is used for the Plantation Gardens that is situated the other side of the car park . Also worth a look around as you are in the area
