I book online. I check the website carefully and it tells me a Debit card is ok. I go at 5:45 for my 6pm pick up. I have my UK drivers license with current address, my passport as extra ID, and the DVLA printout code thing. Enterprise greet me at the door but tell me I failed an Address check and they can't confirm my identity on their computer. No one cares that they are holding official ID, computer says no. The computer cannot tell them why it says no, it just does. I have lived at this address a year, I have voted from there, but no, computer said no. It is now 5:55, I need a car tomorrow, no one in the branch is fazed, they tell me this can happen to lots of people and no one knows why.Luckily Eurocar were still open, they were able to get me a car quickly for drop-off the other side of the country with no notice. ID check goes through fine. If Eurocar had shut I would have been in a pickle!
Not as cheap as they used to be and hard sell on the extras (which means the original price is high as it doesn't include somethings you would expect) but they do collect you and take you home after which is great. In the past I have been left waiting for over 2 hours.....It would be nice if the staff knew the cars as I had a hybrid and wasn't told how to use the battery power.As good choice of cars, I always go for an auto which is a nice option (and of course costs more)
