Visit Norwich's lost railway station, built in 1882 by the Lynn and Fakenham Railway, later in 1893 to become the Midland and Great Northern joint Railway, taken over by the LNER and LMS in 1923..bombed heavily on April 28/29th April 1942 and losing its original buildings it survived in a pre fab style to passengers until Feb 29th 1958 and closed to freight in Feb 1969..remains seen today are 150 feet of the former platform 1 external wall excavated by the Freinds of Norwich city station in 2010/2012, along with the buffer walls of platform 2 and 3. Platforms 2/3 and 4 were removed in the early 1980s The excavated platform wall is currently still under care and maintenance by the group with further plans to expand excavations and create a 'gateway'
